TOURISM SERVICES COORDINATOR
This is a grant-funded, two-year full-time (40 hrs per week) office-based position. The Tourism Services Coordinator will report to the BDC Board of Directors, and will work closely with the Board, the contract marketing consultant, and the BDC’s Special Projects Coordinator, who will serve as Project Manager on the grant funding this position.
The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing a marketing program laid out by the marketing consultant to increase public awareness of, and visitor traffic to, the Golden Eagle Farm’s organic produce store and vacation rental home(s), and to promote participation in BDC special events such as Night Markets, holiday festivals, farm tours and open houses.
The Tourism Services Coordinator will build relationships with other entities in the local tourism marketplace such as wineries, and specialty farms, and with county, state and federal agencies operating tourism resources such as nature preserves, campgrounds, hiking/biking trails, etc.
Preference will be given to qualified Native American candidates, and to candidates with previous experience working for a federally recognized Indian tribe or tribal enterprise.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
·Implementing social media marketing plan/calendar
·Handling vacation rental inquiries and logistics pre- and post-stay
-Coordination of special events (Night Markets, farm tours, open houses)
·Booking and management of 3rd party meetings and conferences
·Developing and maintaining collaborations with other local tourism entities
·Back-up assistance with daily farm store operations as needed
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
-Previous experience in public-facing or customer service positions
·Strong written and verbal communication skills
-Ability to self-start and work independently in a small office setting
·Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
·Reasonable proficiency with Microsoft Office applicationss (Word, Powerpoint, Excel)
·Reasonable proficiency with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok)
·Knowledge of the Tribe’s market area, attractions and assets
·Valid CA driver’s license
· Ability to maintain confidentiality concerning tribal information
· Respect for tribal sovereignty, culture, traditions and community values
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position is primarily office-based, and may require occasional evening or weekend work in connection with special events and promotional activities on the Golden Eagle Farm. Occasional work-from-home days may be authorized at the discretion of the Board.
Successful candidate must comply with all applicable tribal policies and procedures.
COMPENSATION
The position is funded at $25 per hour. Benefits include vacation pay and sick leave. No health insurance is provided.

TOURISM SERVICES ASSISTANT
This is a grant-funded, two-year .75FTE (30 hrs per week) position. The Tourism Services Assistant will report to the BDC Board of Directors, and will work closely with the Tourism Services Coordinator, the Board, and the BDC Special Project Coordinator, who is the Project Manager for the grant.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing assistance to the Tourism Services Coordinator in support of farm store operations, vacation rentals, and special events such as Night Markets, holiday festivals, farm tours and open houses.
Preference will be given to qualified Native American candidates, and to candidates with previous experience working for a federally recognized Indian tribe or tribal enterprise.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
-Provide day-to-day administrative support to the BDC office
·Greeting and assisting visitors to the Golden Eagle Farm office/farm store
·Managing farm store operations as directed
·Providing logistical (set-up/take-down) support to special events (Night Markets, farm tours, etc)
·Maintaining clean and orderly condition of office/farm store and vacation rental(s) to ensure positive visitor experience
·Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
-Previous experience in administrative, operations or event management positions
·Valid driver’s license
·Strong written and verbal communication skills
·Familiarity with Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
·Ability to sit, stand, walk, operate standard office equipment, and occasionally lift or move materials weighing approximately 25 pounds
·Respect for tribal sovereignty, culture, traditions and community values.
